Milwaukee Bucks vs Cleveland Cavaliers: Current situation
A lot of high profile analysts thought that the Bucks would crumble after losing Bobby Portis to a 25 game suspension, but that could not be further from the truth. Instead, the Bucks have come together as a team and have now won 8 of their last 9 games to solidify their grip on the 4th seed in the East. There is no room for complacency though as the Pacers are just 1 game back in the standings.
With 13 wins in a row it’s hard to find any flaws that this Cavaliers team has right now. This is the 4th time this season they’ve won double-digit games in a row, the lead has now ballooned to 8 over the 2nd seeded Celtics and with less than 20 games to be played it would take a miracle for the Cavaliers to not enter the postseason as the highest ranked team in the Conference.
Milwaukee Bucks Stats & Form
Milwaukee took advantage of the injury riddled Dallas Mavericks in their last game, beating them 137-107. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points to eclipse the 20.000 point mark in his career scoring total, but more importantly the Bucks have now won 4 straight. Damian Lillard also had a solid game with 34 points, including 5 threes made.
Cleveland Cavaliers Stats & Form
The Cavs have had two really close games against Miami and Charlotte, although they’ve failed to cover in both of them they’ve managed to increase their win streak to 13 in a row. Donovan Mitchell led a balanced scoring effort in the 118-117 win over Charlotte, scoring 24 points despite going just 6-for-19 from the field and not hitting a three on 6 attempts. The Cavs recorded just 16 assists in the win, far too low from the numbers we are accustomed to seeing from them this season.
Milwaukee Bucks vs Cleveland Cavaliers: Head-to-Head
The first two meetings between the two sides were decided by just 1 and 2 points, with the 3rd one being a blowout win for Cleveland 124-101 back in December. This means that the win streak in head-to-head meetings is at 4 in a row for the Cavs, they’ve now won 7 of the last 10 meetings while covering in 6 of them. This will be the 237th regular season meeting all-time.
Milwaukee Bucks – Cleveland Cavaliers Odds
Backing the Cavs to extend their win streak to 14 in a row gets you odds of 12/5. If you like the Cavaliers then odds of 1/3 are available.
The point total has been set at 225.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Milwaukee Bucks vs Cleveland Cavaliers (09.03.2025)
Once again the oddsmakers are overestimating the Cavaliers here, but can we really blame them after we saw this team win 13 games in a row? This will be a massive test for the Bucks who have been encouraged by their play over the past couple of weeks. Some people have argued they’ve had a favorable schedule over the past 10 games, a game like Cleveland is good measuring stick for us to see where this team exactly is right now. Depth wise the Cavaliers have a massive advantage here, with the Bucks not having Bobby Portis available. The x-factor will be Giannis Antetokounmpo against whom no team in the NBA has a effective gameplan. The Greek Freak is averaging 30.8 points per game this season, which is only 2nd to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, it could be a long night for the likes of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen trying to contain him down low. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers biggest weapon here will be their three point shooting – they’ve led the NBA almost the entire season in efficiency from downtown, knocking down 39.2% of their shots. However, Milwaukee’s perimeter defense is elite, they allow the 3rd lowest percentage of threes per game this season, so this will be a good test for the Cavs offense. Playing at home we have a feeling the Bucks won’t allow this game to get out of hand. There is a lot of pride at stake after the Cavaliers won all 3 meetings earlier this season, Giannis will not allow to get swept here. We are taking the Bucks.
