West Brom vs. Chelsea Tip

Premier League leaders Chelsea, travel to the Hawthorns on Friday night knowing a win will be good enough to secure the title.

It will be a remarkable feat for Antonio Conte, who has turned the players who were under performing last season, into potential league winners.  Chelsea have one more game after this, at home, which they can win to seal the title but will not want to wait until then.

West Brom cannot finish any higher in the Premier League than their current position of 8th place.  However, they can slide down the table and Tony Pulis will not want to end the season in the bottom half of the league.

West Brom Form

If West Brom are to avoid being sucked into the bottom half of the Premier League, they need to drastically improve on recent results.

The Baggies have won only 1 of their previous 9 Premier League games, a run of results which has seen the teams below them close the gap.  Things have not been great at the Hawthorns lately and West Brom have lost their last 3 home league matches, all by the same score of 1-0.

The 3 defeats have come against Southampton, Liverpool and Leicester City and Pulis will be very disappointed not have won at least 2 of those games.

Chelsea Form

Having lost to Manchester United in the Premier League, Conte’s players have not allowed the result against their former manager to disrupt their title charge.

Chelsea have won their last 4 matches in all competitions, including an FA Cup semi-final win over Tottenham Hotspur and Premier League wins over Southampton, Everton and Middlesbrough.

Having struggled to keep clean sheets, Chelsea have made a return to solidity at the back, just at the right time and have not conceded a goal in 180 minutes of football.  They are unbeaten in 7 of their last 8 away games in the Premier League and just 1 more win would be enough to see them crowned champions.

Team News

West Brom are hoping Jonny Evans will be fit to take his place in central defence but will probably be without Matt Phillips and Hal Robson-Kanu.

Conte will be hoping to welcome back N’Golo Kante to the team, having missed the victory over Middlesbrough on Monday night.  If the Frenchman is fit, Conte will have a tough decision to make in midfield, as Cesc Fabregas won the man of the match away against Middlesbrough.
