Real Madrid Recent Form
Having made it through to the Champions League final in midweek, Real will look to continue their hunt for a domestic and European double.
They currently sit second in La Liga but are only behind Barcelona on goal difference, with a game in-hand.
Three consecutive victories have seen them score twelve goals and they have only lost once at home all season, to Barcelona last month.
Victory here is vital to their title chances but they could afford a draw, if Barcelona slip up or Real win their final two matches against Celta Vigo and Malaga.
Sevilla Recent Form
Sevilla need just a point from their final two games to secure a top four finish and play bottom of the table Osasuna on the last day. However, they will be looking for a surprise victory here to become the only team to have beaten real twice in the league this season.
They have suffered just one defeat in their last six games but their recent away form has been atrocious. Defeat at mid-table Malaga last time out has almost certainly ended their hopes of a top three finish, as well as stretching their win-less away run to five matches.
Head to Head Record
Sevilla won the most recent meeting between these sides, picking up a 2-1 victory in January to become the first of just three teams to defeat Real in the league this season.
Recent meetings have been relatively equal, with two wins apiece and two draws from the last six. Overall, Real have won 32 of the 49 meetings since December 1993, with Sevilla picking up 13 victories and only four matches finishing level.
Real have won their last ten home matches against Sevilla, with the visitors last picking up a victory at the Bernabeu in December 2008.
Matches between the two tend to see plenty of goal action, with at least three goals in eleven of the last twelve meetings.
Betting Odds and Predictions
Although Real Madrid have more to play for and are rightly 2/11 favourites for the victory here, they have dropped points at home recently. Their last three as hosts have seen them draw with Atletico Madrid, lose to Barcelona, and just scrape past Valencia thanks to an 86th minute winner.
Therefore, both the 7/1 for a draw here and 11/1 for Sevilla to pick up a surprise victory could prove to be extremely good value if real aren’t at the top of their game.
There is a high scoring history in matches between these two and when you add that to the fact 78% of Real’s home games and 67% of Sevilla’s away this season have had at least three goals, it’s highly likely there will be plenty of goals here. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 2/13 with Betway, over 3.5 is 2/5, and over 4.5 is 19/20. The latter has happened in three of the last seven meetings and provides the best value.
Both teams have scored in 74% of Real’s and 64% of Sevilla’s games this season, and it’s priced at 4/9 for both sides to find the net in this match.
Betway offer odds of 2/5 for Real Madrid to score in both halves here, which is something they have done in four of their last five league matches.
When looking at the anytime goalscorer market, the player who provides the most value is James Rodriguez. He has scored five goals in Real’s last four league matches, including a double in the first eleven minutes against Granada last weekend, and is priced at 1/1 to score any time in this match.
Alvaro Morata also scored twice last time out and he’s priced at 3/4 to find the net in this match.
Top Betting Tip
We think there will be plenty of goals in this match but 2/13 for over 2.5 goals isn’t really much value. Therefore, our top betting tip for this match is Over 3.5 goals which is priced at 2/5 with Betway.
We also believe that both teams will score in this match, so our next best tip is Both Teams to Score. This is priced at 4/9 with the same bookmaker as above.
