Betting Tip: Yeovil v Cheltenham

This will probably end up being an entertaining battle between two sides who badly need a win. Yeovil have six points on the board already but they have just been totally hit and miss because of their flimsy defence. As for Cheltenham, they are stuck right at the bottom of the league, out of form and with no form going at either end of the pitch. There may well be goals around in this one and it is a game which Yeovil are 7/4 favourites to win, with the visiting Cheltenham an 8/5 punt at William Hill.

Yeovil Form

The Glovers have alternated between a loss and a win in their five league games this season. The two victories that they have posted have both been on home soil, so that is a big positive for them heading into this one. One of the home wins was a shock victory over the strong Accrington as well. The Glovers have scored five goals in their two home wins so far. Cheltenham may have a tough time responding to that kind of output. There has been an average of 3.5 goals per game at Huish Park this season.

Cheltenham Form

Cheltenham have just the one win and four defeats on board this season and are struggling. They have lost their two away games at Morecambe and Carlisle and it’s hard to see them having enough to pull themselves off the foot of the table. They have six goals scored this season, three of them coming in a home defeat against Exeter. They have failed to score in two of their last three and boast the fourth-worst defensive record in the division.

Head to Head News

Yeovil romped to a 4-2 win over the Robins last year in the League Two meeting. They are unbeaten in their last three home games against Cheltenham with a W2 D1 record and therefore look favourable to back. Cheltenham are actually up in the overall head to head record with Yeovil in all competitions 7-5 with five drawn matches.  Four of the last six meetings have seen fewer than three goals.

Top Betting Tips

Yeovil have shown enough home form to break down a Cheltenham side which is looking a bit out of their depth at the moment. The Robins just don’t have the strengths at the back or going forward to really warrant backing in this one. The Glovers can take another good three points on home soil.
