Betting Tip: Carlisle v Mansfield

There doesn’t look as if there is going to be much between these two as they clash at Field Mill on Saturday. Carlisle are sat on six points after their first four games of the season with Mansfield just a point back. There have been plenty of goals around in games involving both of these clubs so far in League Two which means that we should see a pretty entering affair. Carlisle won their last home game convincingly, while Mansfield are still on the hunt for their first away win. The Cumbrians are actually 9/5 underdogs on home soil here with Mansfield in at 8/5 to win with William Hill

Carlisle Form

After making the play offs last season the Blues will have been hoping for a better start. But they have gone W2 D2 and splitting that down it is W1 L1 both at home and away. They opened with a home loss against Swindon, before responding by putting a 3-0 win on the board over Cheltenham. They have scored in each of their four league games and at least two in both of their victories. Reggie Lambe has scored in each of their last three games and is a 4/1 anytime goalscorer option.

Mansfield Form

The Stags have posted a W1 D2 L1 record so they have offered a little more resilient than Carlile have done this season. Their only away defeat happened out on the road at Accrington though, which followed a 2-2 draw at Crewe on the opening weekend. Like Carlisle, Mansfield have scored in each of their games and they have netted at least two in three of their four played. So there should be goals around, as neither defence has really stepped up to the plate yet.

Top Betting Tips

There should be goals once more between these two on the evidence of the head to head and the form of the two this season. Both teams to score is at 8/13 to highlight that and over 2.5 goals fetches a better price of 8/11 with William Hill. It’s flip a coin time in this one, but Carlisle’s home advantage may just tip it.
