Betting Tip: Barnet v Stevenage

This is going to be a tricky game to call on the weekend in League Two with neither managing to secure any kind of consistency yet in the new season. Barnet have collected four points from their three games while Stevenage are a point better off having remained unbeaten so far.

Will that be the thing that tips the balance in this one or will it be the home advantage which will work in favour of the Bees? Barnet are going only at a big 7/5 price on home soil to pick up the three points in this one, while Stevenage are not a million miles behind at 9/5 with William Hill.

Barnet Form:

You don’t know what you are going to get from Barnet at the moment then, with a W1 D1 L1 record on the board so far. In their one home game though they did take a 1-0 home win over Luton, but there are just some signs there that they are going to be struggling for goals this season. They really haven’t had a tough game yet and have only averaged the one goal per game. That will put them in some state of vulnerability until they sort that one out. They have a mixed home record going against Boro as well.

Stevenage Form:

Unlike Barnet, Stevenage have remained unbeaten so far with a win and two drawn matches on the board. They have not had issues putting the ball in the back of the net with seven goals scored so far following a great 3-1 home win over Grimsby on the weekend.  Forward Dan Newton has scored one goal in each of their league fixtures this season so watch for him in the goalscorer markets. They may not be totally fazed by this fixture, but it looks as if it going to be pretty even.

Head to Head News:

In the last four games between these at Barnet, both sides have taken two wins. So there is nothing to split them there. Stevenage have scored at least two goals in each of their last three visits there and with each of the last four meetings at The Hive Stadium having gone over 2.5 goals, there is a good trend running there. In the overall head to head between them, Stevenage are W8 D2 L4 up on the Bees.

Top Betting Tips:

Right out of the gate you have a price of 5/6 on over 2.5 goals which looks a very sound bet. It’s pretty tough to find something to split these two up, but the extra scoring threat that Stevenage are posing at the moment, combined with their unbeaten form this season may be the thing that just tips the balance in their favour. Look for the away win.
