Gambit

Gambit have outperformed everyone’s expectations at this years PGL Major in Krakow. Playing 4 matches in total, they have yet to concede a map in this tournament.

Their performance in Krakow has included 16 – 10 win over Mousesports on Inferno, a 16-6 win over G2 on Cache and a 16 – 11 win over Virtus.pro on Train.

They’ve now secured a place in the semi-final of this years major thanks to a well deserved 2 – 0 win over Fnatic in the quarter-finals. Dauren “Adren” Kystaubayev felt the pressure of the centre stage and has been quoted to say

“…I felt a little bit nervous and pressured, so thanks to my teammates for bringing me to the semis. Now it’s my turn”.

Astralis

Currently ranked as the 3rd best CS:GO team, Astralis managed to defeat the holders of 1st place, SK Gaming 2-0 in the quarter-finals. The teams fought on Cache for the first map in a close game that ended 16 – 12. They later went on to secure a huge 16 – 6 victory on Overpass, a map that SK Gaming are usually very confident in playing.

Astralis have won all of their matches at the PGL Major Krakow 2017 except for their 2nd game against SK where they lost 16 – 8 on Inferno.

Interestingly, their first match of the tournament was a struggle as they barely secured an overtime win against Immortals on Overpass.

Astralis are seasoned veterans when it comes to big LAN events and majors so nerves should not be a problem in the semi-finals.

Head To Head Record

Gambit and Astralis have a long history of head to head games under different organisation names. Astralis typically come out on top but interestingly, their most recent match at ESL One Cologne in 2016 saw Gambit run away with a 16 – 6 win.

Betting Odds And Predictions

Although Astralis are the clear bookies favourites, both teams have had an exceptional run in the tournament so far. Astralis have lost just one map to SK gaming and Gambit have a clean sheet. Betway have Astralis priced at 30/100 and Gambit at 11/5. Gambit have done very well to get this far but Astralis have beaten them time and time again in the past. Not only that, but Astralis are much more experienced at later stages in bigger tournaments. Although Gambit may be able to steal a map, they’re unlikely to win the match.

Betway have released a huge range of special bets for this tournament, just as they did for ESL One Cologne earlier in the month. Astralis are definitely the more advanced team in terms of tactics, but Gambit can outgun any team if they need to. With that in mind, it’s well worth a bet that AdreN can get 2 kills in the 1st Pistol Round at odds of 5/1.

Astralis can be slow to get into a game as they may well use the first map to gauge Gambits style of play. Depending on the map veto, Gambit should have their best chance of winning a map in map 1. At odds of 31/20, this is definitely worth a shot.

Top Betting Tip

Our top betting tip for this match is Gambit to win is Astralis to win 2-1 at odds of 9/5. Whilst Astralis should win this with their eyes closed, Gambit will likely steal the most aim-driven map.
