Halep easily defeated Shuai Zhang in straight sets in the quarterfinal, while she dominated Cori Gauff in the round of 16.
Simona is still searching for her first title in 2019. She has a 34-10 record this season, reaching the round of 16 at the Australian Open and quarterfinals at Roland Garros. Halep has a 22-8 record at Wimbledon.
