Round 23 of the 2022-23 German Bundesliga kicks off Friday, March 3, with the marquee matchup from Signal Iduna Park, so we bring you the best Dortmund vs. RB Leipzig betting pick and odds.

Dortmund vs. RB Leipzig Betting Tip, Prediction & Odds (3.3.2023)

Friday’s clash at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund will have great implications for the German Bundesliga title race. Hereof, we are expecting a great battle between a couple of attacking-minded teams.

Dortmund vs. RB Leipzig: Initial Situation

Borussia Dortmund are second in Bundesliga with 46 points (W15, D1, L6) and a 45:27 goal difference, right behind FC Bayern, who top the standings thanks to a better goal difference. On the other side, RB Leipzig is fourth with 42 points (W12, D6, L4) and a 45:27 goal difference.

Dortmund Stats & Form

The Black and Yellows have been outstanding since the World Cup break. They’ve won nine straight games in all competitions, including seven victories in the German Bundesliga. Last Saturday, Dortmund outlasted Hoffenheim 1-0 on the road, outshooting their opponents 23-13 and holding the ball at their feet for 55 percent of the time.

Julian Brandt scored the winner against Hoffenheim, increasing his season tally to nine goals. Jude Bellingham leads the way for Dortmund with ten goals and six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions, while Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko have bagged six goals apiece. Both Adeyemi and Moukoko are on the shelf due to injuries, so Sebastien Haller (a goal and an assist in nine apps) is projected to lead the frontline against the Red Bulls.

RB Leipzig Stats & Form

The Red Bulls have won two straight league games, outlasting Wolfsburg 3-0 on the road and Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 at home in the process. Last Saturday, the Red Bulls beat the Eagles thanks to Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg, who recorded a goal and an assist apiece. RB Leipzig have done an excellent job away from home in the last few months, tallying six wins and three draws over their previous nine road contests in all competitions.

Christopher Nkunku leads the charge for the Red Bulls with 17 goals and five dishes in 26 appearances this season. Timo Werner has 12 goals on his account, while Dominik Szoboszlai is the team’s best assist-maker with 13 dishes in 31 games. Dani Olmo (four goals and six assists) is still recovering from a leg injury and will probably miss the Dortmund game.

Dortmund – RB Leipzig: Head-to-Head

The Red Bulls have won three straight matches against the Black and Yellows, including their first meeting of the season. Back in September, RB Leipzig blanked Dortmund 3-0 as 2.35 home favorites, allowing just four shots to the Black and Yellows.

Dortmund – RB Leipzig Odds

With Borussia Dortmund playing in excellent form, the bookmakers consider the hosts as slight favorites to grab three points. We should see a high-scoring affair. Both Teams to Score YES pays just 1.55 at BetVictor Sportsbook, and the Over 2.5 Goals sits at 1.63 on Unibet Sportsbook.

Betting tip and prediction: Dortmund – RB Leipzig (3.3.2023)

It’s hard to find value in this matchup, as the bookmakers know what they’re doing. I would like to take Both Teams to Score YES, but the prize is not attractive at all. The side bet is a tricky one, and this game could easily go three-way. Borussia have played very well lately, but RB Leipzig own plenty of dangerous weapons and should find the back of the net.

The Red Bulls are playing well on the road, so I’m backing them to earn at least a point at 1.70 on Unibet Sportsbook. They won’t sit back and defend, and the Red Bulls will push forward in numbers if Dortmund take a lead.
