In a group with Andrey Rublev, Stéfanos Tsitsipás and Daniil Medvedev, Djokovic emerged victorious. From the first two men, Djokovic won 2-0 and against Medvedev 2-1. The Serb and Russian have met more often. In 2021, for instance, they faced each other in the finals of the Australian Open and the US Open. It is usually very evenly matched and so too this time. Thanks to the victory over Medvedev, Djokovic will start the match against Fritz with a good feeling.

Taylor Fritz – Latest News & Statistics

Fritz is the current number nine in the ATP rankings. This makes him the highest ranked American at the moment. The 25-year-old Fritz is going through a very strong year and already wrote three titles to his name in 2022. He was the strongest at the ATP tournaments of Tokyo, Eastbourne and Indian Wells. As a result, he climbed up the rankings considerably, securing a spot at the ATP Finals.

At the ATP Finals, he continued his good form. First, he defeated Rafael Nadal 2-0 (7-6 6-1). Fritz then had to acknowledge his superiority to Casper Ruud, but in the last group match Fritz managed to recover. Thus, in an exciting match against Felix Auger-Aliassime, the American was 2-1 too strong (6-7 7-6 2-6). The two victories allowed Fritz to make it to the semi-finals where he now faces Djokovic.

Djokovic – Fritz Head to Head

Looking at the results between them, it does not look good for Fritz. After all, he has never won against Djokovic. The two met five times in the past, but each time the victory went to the Serb. In 2021, they last played against each other in the quarterfinals of the ATP Masters 1000 Paris France. Then Djokovic won 2-0 (6-4 6-3). The Serb will therefore go into the match with Fritz full of confidence.

Djokovic – Fritz: Betting Tip & Odds

Djokovic goes into this match as favourite. He may be eighth in the rankings, but he certainly hasn’t lost his class. He has already won four titles this year and also showed in the group stage why he was the world number one for so long. Fritz is also playing fine tennis at the moment, but seems a size too small for Djokovic. Our prediction is therefore that Djokovic wins. The odds for this bet are not yet known, but we will add them as soon as the bookmakers come up with them.
