Betting Tip: Manchester United v Leicester City

Manchester United have started this season very well with two 4-0 victories to really lay down a marker to the rest of the league. They have been brilliant to watch so far and I can’t wait to see more from them, although Leicester have also started well and will be dangerous.

Leicester probably should have picked up six points from their opening games like Manchester United have, although they couldn’t hold on away at Arsenal in their opener. Leicester look a different team to the one last season, playing without fear like they did when they won the league. However, Manchester United offer a very different challenge, they have been brilliant so far and look difficult to beat.

Manchester United Form

Despite winning the Europa League last season, Manchester United probably disappointed a little last year. They came 6th in the Premier League, but much more was expected from them and this year is when they have to bounce back. Jose Mourinho has built his squad and he has to show that they are capable of really challenging for the title once again.

Romelu Lukaku has started brilliantly this season, as has Paul Pogba who struggled in the early part of last season. Those two have been involved in many of the goals they have scored and Leicester are going to have to defend very well against United.

With a win here against Leicester, Manchester United will confirm themselves as the early pace setters this season, something they won’t mind. With so many different attacking players in the line-up I am expecting them to score a lot more goals this season, which could be what makes them genuine title contenders.

Leicester Form

Last season was always going to be tough for Leicester after their title win the season before. That was the case but so far this season they have looked much better. They are attacking with no fear, scoring goals and look much more like the team who sprung a huge surprise to win the league two seasons ago.

Leicester will probably be disappointed that they don’t have six points on the board after a great display away at Arsenal on the opening day. Despite leading 3-2 in the final 10 minutes, they lost the game 4-3 after a dramatic start to the season.

They settled down well with a good 2-0 victory over Brighton last weekend and if they can keep up their form they look sure to finish in the top half of the table this season, a good bounce back from the disappointment of last season.

Team News

Manchester United have really impressed going forward so far, great to see after they struggled for goals last season. Romelu Lukaku already looks to be the final piece of the jigsaw and I can’t wait to see more of them as they grow and develop this season. We have seen a lot already, but there is even more to come in my opinion, especially from Lukaku.

One of the biggest positives so far for Leicester has been the form of Jamie Vardy. He was brilliant during their title winning season, but disappointed last season. He scored twice in the Arsenal defeat and has looked very lively so far, something that Leicester will be hoping continues.

Top Betting Tips

Manchester United are quickly showing us all that they can compete for the league title this season. They have brought in a few players over the summer and it now looks like Jose Mourinho has the squad that he wants to go to war with. Continuing their good start will give them the chance to set the early pace and that will suit Mourinho I am sure.

Leicester have already shown a lot of promise so far this season, although I think this game will be a step too far for them and they will be beaten on their visit to Old Trafford.

With little value in the main market, I am going to choose a correct score for this game. I believe Leicester will score in the game, so I am going to back Manchester United to win the game 3-1, which is available at 11/1 with Ladbrokes. I think Manchester United will be able to continue their good run, scoring plenty of goals, but I can see Leicester scoring once as they have started very well. This is another chance for Manchester United to show us all that they are genuine title contenders.
