Betting Tip: Barnet v Cambridge

Both sides are set on seven points after five games played in the new season and so both are staring down the barrel of mid table obscurity. But there is a good chance here for one of them to make up some ground and shoot up the table. Of the two it will be Cambridge who are carrying the slightly better form of the two but they have been struggling badly for goals though. This may be a tight scrap with Barnet at 11/8 to get their hands on the maximum points, with Cambridge 9/5 to take the away win.

Barnet Form

Barnet have posted a W2 D1 L2 record so far this season and at home that breast W1 L1 from their two games. They took a good 1-0 win over Luton but were then taken down at the Hive Stadium by a 1-0 scoreline in their most recent home game. Last weekend though they hit the road and pummelled early leaders Swindon. The trouble is, they haven’t managed to land any positive consistency though. Shaquile Coulthirst is a 15/8 anytime goalscorer option and he rattled off a hattrick at Swindon last week.

Cambridge Form

The U’s had a poor start to the season after they lost their two opening games. They have recovered from that with a very good W2 D1 record in their last three and they have three clean sheets on the bounce as well. Their two wins in this sequence have been by a 1-0 scoreline which will offer 15/2 odds in the correct score market here. The problem for them is putting the ball in the back of the net with just the three goals scored in their five league outings this term.

Head to Head News

Cambridge actually have a stretch of uneaten form going against the Bees. They are on a seven match unbeaten streak against them at the moment with a W3 D4 record against them in that sequence. They are W2 D2 in their four previous League Two games against Barnet and they have four points from their two trips to the Hive Stadium in the division. Four of the last five meetings have been under 2.5 goals.

Top Betting Tips

This will probably be a low scoring game. Because of the inconsistencies that Barnet have produced there actually may be a little value in backing the away side to get something out of this. The U’s are struggling for goals but a Cambridge Draw No Bet at even money looks great value.
