Five Betting Tips for the Weekend

It’s another big weekend of action in the sporting world with a whole host of football matches, The Ashes, The PDC World Darts Championship and many, many more sporting events taking place. In this article I will be giving you five betting tips for the weekend, some longer odds and some banker bets. Take a look through them and see if anything takes your fancy!

1) Willian to Score at Anytime vs Southampton – 9/4 (Ladbrokes)

With Alvaro Morata injured and Eden Hazard playing further forward, Willian stepped into the Chelsea side against Huddersfield Town in the week and turned in a frankly majestic performance. The Brazilian wizard was central to everything Chelsea did well and helped himself to a goal and two assists and I’m backing him to find the net again on Saturday against a struggling Southampton side.

2) Manchester City to Win and BTTS – 15/8 (Ladbrokes)

Manchester City set a new record in midweek with their 15th consecutive win and Pep Guardiola’s side look unstoppable at the moment. On Saturday evening they come up against last season’s runners up and I fancy Spurs to give them a good game in this one. Four of City’s last five matches have ended with a 2-1 score line and considering City are nursing a number of injuries in defence, I think the 15/8 available on City to win and BTTS looks like a great value bet.

3) Ashes 3rd Test to be Drawn – 13/8 (Ladbrokes)

England managed to get over 400 in their first innings at the WACA, but Joe Root knows that his side missed out on a real chance to get a massive score after losing their last six wickets for just 35 runs. Australia finished the day on 203-3 and you’d fancy them to push well beyond 500 now. The wicket looks very flat in Perth and considering the heat I think this pitch could hold up for the whole test match. England know that if they lose this one, then they will lose The Ashes, but I’m backing this match to finish as a draw.

4) Romelu Lukaku to Score First vs WBA – 7/2 (Paddy Power)

Romelu Lukaku grabbed the only goal of the game as Manchester United beat Bournemouth in midweek and I’m backing the big Belgian to find the net again this weekend against WBA. Lukaku has struggled of late, finding the net just twice in 14 games before Wednesday’s goal, but he will have been boosted by his goal against Bournemouth. He’s something of a flat track bully and does well against the weaker sides, so he should be all over WBA at the weekend.

5) Liverpool (-2) vs Bournemouth – 16/5 (Ladbrokes)

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side have a point to prove after disappointing back to back draws against Everton and West Bromwich Albion have yielded just one goal. Liverpool will be desperate to avenge the 4-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of Bournemouth last season and I’m backing them to get goals in this one. Bournemouth can be very poor defensively and if Liverpool’s attacking players click on Sunday, they could put a few past Bournemouth in this one.
