A surprisingly large amount of people wrote off the Boston Celtics after they lost those opening two home games in this series, but the defending champions once again showed they are the best when it matters the most. Jalen Brunson did his part with 27 points and 7 assists in Game 3, but outside of Karl-Anthony Towns who had 21 and 15 rebounds he did not get much help. It was an odd game by head coach Tom Thibodeau’s standards, he played a total of 7 bench players which is something you don’t see often. Could fatigue be a factor for the Knicks moving forward?

Payton Pritchard was the unsung hero in Game 3 with 23 points off the bench, leading the way on the scoring front. Jayson Tatum also delivered 22 points after struggling to open this series, while Jaylen Brown added 19 and Derrick White chipped in with 17. It was a complete team effort by the Celtics who are now looking to keep the momentum going into Game 4.

Shooters shoot, that’s the old NBA saying and it couldn’t be more accurate in the case of the Boston Celtics. After going a combined 25-for-100 from three-point land in the first two games of this series, the Celtics bounced back shooting the lights out in Game 3 resulting in a 22 point win. One win can easily switch the momentum of a series and we are of the opinion that this is happening in the Celtics vs Knicks match-up. It was quite evident even after the two losses that Boston has the better team, it was only a matter of time until the flood gates would open and they’d start making their threes. New York hasn’t shown anything out of the ordinary in this series, Game 4 could once again be a struggle unless they can figure out something on the fly, which we doubt can happen here. You’d think playing at home would give them an advantage, but so far this postseason the Knicks have recorded more wins in away games than home games. Boston’s 20 threes made in Game 3 was a postseason high, even with a struggling Kristaps Porzingis they are the deeper team here. Order will be restored in this series with another Celtics win in Game 4. Back the road squad as favorites to cover.
