Oklahoma City Thunder vs Indiana Pacers: Current situation
Entering their first NBA Finals since 2012 when the team had Kevin Durant, James Harden and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder are the odds-on favorites to win this series. Most analysts have them winning in 5 games, that just shows the level of excellence they presented so far this postseason run.
On the other hand, the Pacers are in their first NBA Finals since the 1999-2000 season when they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 4-2. This season Indy went 50-32 during the regular season, their 4-1 gentleman sweep over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Round 2 was particularly impressive. They own the best shooting percentage and best three-point percentage so far this postseason.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
OKC’s latest win came against Minnesota almost a week ago as they wrapped up the series in 5 games with a 124-94 win. SGA led the scoring with 34 points and 8 assists, while Chet Holmgren had his 3rd game in 4 outings with 20+ points as he went for 22. As a team the Thunder played an almost perfect game, after going up 26-9 in the first period they never looked back.
Indiana Pacers Stats & Form
Pascal Siakam once again erupted as he scored 31 points in the Game 6 clincher against the New York Knicks. Tyrese Haliburton added 21 and 13 assists, but the Eastern Conference Finals MVP award went to Siakam. I’m sure the young Pacers players won’t mind as they’ve already made history with this run.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Indiana Pacers: Head-to-Head
These two teams being in opposite conferences means that they’ve played each other only twice this season and it was the Thunder that dominated both meetings by 6 and 21 points. Surprisingly though, Indiana has had the edge in recent history winning 8 of 12 meetings, including 4 of the last 6 in Oklahoma City. However, those wins were against an OKC team that wasn’t nearly as good as this year’s squad.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Indiana Pacers Odds
Backing the Thunder to get off to a winning start in this series gets you odds of 2/9. If you like Indiana and the upset, odds of 16/5 are here to support a road victory.
The point total has been set at 231.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Indiana Pacers (05.06.2025.)
Youth and a lack of experience playing on the biggest stage describes both teams heading into this series as both the Thunder and Pacers look to capture their first ever NBA championship. Game 1 is a feel out game more often than not, these two teams actually play a very similar style as they like to push the tempo. Indiana in particular has thrived in this scenario this postseason, it’ll be interesting to see if they can keep up with the Thunder’s defense which is arguably the best we’ve ever seen. Having the regular season MVP among their ranks also helps OKC here. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has seen a bit of a drop-off in stats compared to the regular season, but that just shows how great he was in the 82 games played and now more teams are paying attention to him and are still unable to slow him down. During the regular season he dominated the Pacers in both meetings, scoring 33 and 45 points. In the last 6 meetings he’s averaging a unreal 34.3 points and 7.3 rebounds against them, the Pacers will have their hands full trying to guard him. All in all, Oklahoma City is the more battle tested team going into Game 1. They won 29 of 30 games vs Eastern Conference opponents in the regular season, it’s hard to see the Pacers doing anything in the series opener. Let’s back the Thunder to cover.
