Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Current situation
Losing Stephen Curry is a massive blow to the ambitions of the Warriors here, without him they become just a regular team. A grade 1 hamstring strain gives Golden State hope that he will come back in this series, but it might not be until Game 4 or even Game 5 that happens. Until then it’s up to Jimmy Butler to become the batman of this team and carry the offense.
Minnesota has the Warriors right where they want them. After a pair of poor shooting games against the Lakers and Warriors, they responded with 16 threes made in Game 2 of this series, the sky is the limit for this team when their long ball is dropping. Thursday’s win was their 13th in the last 16 games played, The T’Wolves are now 10-2 SU in their last 12 games vs Western Conference opponents.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
Jimmy Butler failed to deliver with his team needing him in Game 1. He finished with just 17 points on 6-for-13 from the field, logging just 34 minutes. With the series now moving to Chase Center for the next two games, we expect Jimmy to log more than 40 minutes and his production to go way up. The Warriors should be happy with the way Jonathan Kuminga played in Game 2, he finished with a postseason high 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting.
Minnesota Timberwolves Stats & Form
It’s always good when you get a bench player scoring 20 points, Nickeil Alexander-Walker did just that on Thursday on 7-for-13 shooting and 4 threes made. Julius Randle led the way with 24, while Anthony Edwards added 20 and 9 rebounds despite playing on a bummed ankle. We are still waiting on the Rudy Gobert game in this series, the Frenchman had just 5 points and 9 rebounds in Game 2.
Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Head-to-Head
Golden State got the better of the two teams in 3 of the 4 regular season meetings, Saturday’s game will be the 7th time these two teams play each other this year. Minnesota is just 1-4 ATS/SU in the last 5 meetings, however at Chase Center they’ve won in 4 of 5 visits. Interestingly enough, the point total has cashed on the over 13 times in the last 20 meetings overall between the two teams.
Golden State Warriors – Minnesota Timberwolves Odds
Backing the Curry-less Warriors to win gets you 7/4 odds, while for Minnesota to grab a 2-1 lead you can get 1/2 odds.
The point total has been set at 201.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves (10.05.2025.)
Order has been restored in this series following Thursday’s Timberwolves win at Target Center. Now the momentum picks up as the two teams will play each other every other day, which is not good from the Warriors perspective as they continue life without Stephen Curry. The Warriors guard suffered a hamstring strain in Game 1, thankfully it’s not a severe strain so he could come back at some point in the series, however without him the offense of the Warriors will struggle big time. Game 2 saw them get off to a slow start scoring just 15 points in the opening 12 minutes of play, so they were pretty much playing catch-up the entire game after that. Playing at home levels the playing field a little bit, but then again Minnesota did have a winning record of 24-17 SU in away games during the regular season and they’ve already beaten the Lakers in Round 1 twice on the road. Anthony Edwards suffered a minor ankle sprain in Game 2, he was able to return to the game later on and pushed through so there should be no lingering effects. It’s hard to trust the Warriors without Curry here, unless Jimmy Butler plays out of his mind. He wasn’t very effective in Game 2, at this stage of his career performances of 40+ points are going to be rare, we are more inclined into trusting the Timberwolves here. Let’s back Minnesota to cover and win Game 3.
