It’s only right that the Pistons won Game 5 following that controversial ending to Game 4 in which the Knicks won after a non-call was made by the officials on a three-point attempt as time expired. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff made sure his team was locked in defensively right from the get go, the main priority was to limit the production of Jalen Brunson and the Pistons did just that holding him to 4-for-16 shooting from the field and jus 16 points scored. It wasn’t the best of shooting performance from either team as they combined to go 17-for-54 from three, but that was to be expected with the stakes being very high in a elimination game. Game 6 will be another elimination game for the Pistons who are looking to win at home in the playoffs for the first time in over a decade and a half, so we can expect the crowd to go crazy, even more than what we saw in Games 3 and 4 when the Pistons bottled both home games. The intensity of this series is going up as the series progresses, there are no more secrets between the two teams as they’ve played each other already 9 times this year. One trick that the Pistons could pull off here is to activate their big man Isaiah Stewart who is bothered by a knee injury. Getting him would increase the physicality down low significantly, but it would also help the Pistons protect the paint more.
