Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Current situation
Game 3 will be a gut check moment for the Denver Nuggets who simply didn’t show up in Game 2. We saw them do a similar thing in Round 1 against the Clippers when they gave away Game 3 on the road, but then bounced back with 2 consecutive wins. However, this time around they are going up against a team that’s won over 70 games if we count both the regular season and playoffs.
Unlike their counterparts on the East side of the bracket, the Thunder were able to avoid going down 2-0 in this series. Once again their depth showed, this is one of the main reasons why they finished the regular season with the best overall record. Now they go on the road for the next two games in hopes of retaining home court advantage, this year they are 34-8 SU in away games.
Denver Nuggets Stats & Form
Nuggets head coach Adelman said his team got punked in Game 2 and we would agree with that statement. Denver waived the white flag as early as the 2nd quarter, as OKC led by as many as 49 points at one point. Russell Westbrook was the high point man with 19 off the bench, but was more of a product of him getting extra minutes because of the game was over.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
OKC played close to a perfect game as you can in Game 2, getting double digit points from all 5 staters and 3 other players off the bench. They outrebounded the Nuggets, had more assists and committed less turnovers while having more blocks. Pressure is still on them to get back into this series, they’ll have to win a road game in order to advance here.
Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Head-to-Head
Neither team is yet to connect two wins in a row in meetings between these teams this season. The 149 points scored in Game 2 was a high for Oklahoma City against Denver, the over has now cashed in back-to-back games and in 4 of the last 5 meetings. Backing OKC to cover has yielded profit in 8 of their last 9 visits to Ball Arena as well.
Denver Nuggets – Oklahoma City Thunder Odds
Backing the Thunder on the road will get you odds of 1/2. If you fancy Denver at home you can back them to win at 7/4.
The point total has been set at 230.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder (09.05.2025.)
In arguably his worst ever game as a Denver Nugget, Nikola Jokic had just 17 points and 8 rebounds in Game 2, finishing with a -36 point differential. Denver got absolutely smoked in that game, losing by 43 points in the end. The game was pretty much over by half time as they allowed 87 points through the first 24 minutes of play. It’s now back to the drawing board for head coach Adelman, the good thing is only two of the starters played more than 30 mins in that game which could benefit a Nuggets team coming off a 7-game series in Round 1. Oklahoma City played exactly how we expected them to do in Game 1, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 34 points and 8 assists, missing just two of his 13 field goal attempts. The rest of the team followed suit, connecting on 56% of their shot attempts from the field and 16 of 36 threes. But, can the Thunder follow up that performance with a similar one in Game 3? That game will be all about energy, the crowd at Ball Arena will be amped up to support their team for the first time in this series. Denver is 4-1 SU in their last 5 home games, but we are slightly concerned with the status of Michael Porter Jr. who is visibly bothered by his shoulder injury. OKC has covered in 8 of 9 visits to Denver, they’ve also won 5 straight on the road overall and 6 of the last 9 meetings. Let’s give the road team the benefit of the doubt here and back them to win Game 3.
