Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers: Current situation
History is on the line for the Cavaliers here and it’s only fitting that happens to a team that’s already had a historic regular season. Only 13 teams in NBA history have come back from a 3-1 deficit in a best-of-7 series, Cleveland is one of those teams having come back from 3-1 in the 2016 NBA Finals. But, this team is far from that, they have their backs against the wall against a seemingly much superior team here.
Just 1 win away from back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals appearances tells us that the Pacers have evolved tremendously over the past couple of seasons. The match-up against the Cavs has been a favorable one, you won’t find many people backing Cleveland to turn things around here. Winning Tuesday’s game would be very beneficial in the long run as well, giving Indiana more rest in a potential East Finals match-up with Boston or New York.
Cleveland Cavaliers Stats & Form
Game 4 was a collapse of epic proportions for the Cavaliers who were down by as many as 44 points at one point. Donovan Mitchell got only 12 points in 20 mins played, he didn’t play the 2nd half due to an ankle injury which now puts him in doubt for Tuesday’s game. If there is one positive to take away from Sunday’s game it’s the fact that Darius Garland had 21 points in his best game since returning from that toe injury.
Indiana Pacers Stats & Form
Two starters scored 20+ points in Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner, while Obi Toppin added 20 off the bench in what was a blowout win for the Pacers in Game 4. The final score of 129-109 is deceiving, the game was never really that close in the 2nd half. Indiana had 25 assists at half-time, there was just nothing the Cavaliers could do to stop this team.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers: Head-to-Head
These two teams have faced each other 8 times total so far this year and the Pacers have won 6 of those games. It’s quite clear this match-up suits them, they’ve covered the spread in 4 of the last 5 meetings as well. In road games at Rocket Arena they are on a run of 7-1 ATS in their last 8 visits, so the odds are stacked against the Cavs in Game 5.
Cleveland Cavaliers – Indiana Pacers Odds
If you like the Cavs to survive on Tuesday you can get odds of 2/5 for a home win. Backing Indiana gets you odds of 2/1.
The point total has been set at 229.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers (13.05.2025.)
The Cleveland Cavaliers are in deep trouble going into Game 5 as they face elimination on their home floor. The team that went 64-18 SU during the regular season is nowhere to be seen, things are just not looking good if you’re a Cavs fan right now. On top of the heavy defeat in Game 4, there is a chance Donovan Mitchell might not be able to play on Tuesday as he suffered an ankle injury right before the 2nd half started in Sunday’s game. That would be a massive blow for a team that’s already been hampered with injuries in this series, with the likes of Darius Garland, De’Andre Hunter and Evan Mobley all missing games. Game 4 saw the Pacers finish with 37 assists total, they led by as many as 44 points at one point, it was the definition of team ball in a classic blowout scenario. And what hurts the Cavaliers most is the fact that Tyrese Haliburton went for just 11 points and 5 assists which is well below what we’re accustomed to seeing him produce. With a 3-1 cushion now, there’s really not much pressure on the Pacers. Throughout NBA history over 90% of teams leading 3-1 in a best-of-7 series have gone on to win it. Game 5 will be an emotional night with the Cavs season on the line, but with a bit of help from a sold out Rocket Arena, we feel like Cleveland will push this series back to Indiana with an important win. Let’s go with the Cavs on Tuesday.
