Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets: Current situation
Just as we suspected in Game 1 the Thunder struggled to get going early in the game, having not played competitive basketball in a week following their sweep over Memphis. With that Game 1 out the way things will only get better, however home court has now been lost and in order to advance from this series they have to win at least one game at Ball Arena, assuming they don’t lose at home again.
Only 3 other players in NBA postseason history recorded a 40+ points, 20+ rebounds and 5+ assists game before Nikola Jokic did it in the series opener on Monday. The Joker might not win the regular season MVP award, but so far he has gotten the better of SGA in this series. There’s very little pressure on Denver to win Game 2 now, they got what they came for already.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
Oklahoma City’s lead in Game 1 grew to 14 points at one point, but unlike Memphis in Round 1 they weren’t able to pull away at any point during the 2nd half against Denver. Although he had 30+ points, SGA once again shot under 50% from the field. Jalen Williams was also a disappointment with just 16 points on 5-for-20 shooting.
Denver Nuggets Stats & Form
Russell Westbrook has been the story of the postseason for Denver so far, with Nikola Jokic of course. In his return to Oklahoma City Russ had 18 points on an efficient 7-for-13 from the field, his energy off the bench is exactly what these Nuggets need. Head coach Adelman played just 3 players total off the bench in Game 1, as the series moves on it’ll be interesting to see if he adjusts that approach with players logging heavy minutes.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets: Head-to-Head
Monday’s game was the 5th meeting this year if we count the regular season and playoffs together. The two teams split the four regular season games, neither side was able to connect back-to-back wins. Covering the spread on Monday was the 6th time in 7 meetings that the Nuggets were able to do that in road games in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Denver Nuggets Odds
If you think the Nuggets can do the unthinkable and win back-to-back road games, you can back them at 9/2 odds. Backing OKC gets you odds of 1/5 for a home win here.
The point total has been set at 230.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets (07.05.2025.)
So far we’ve had three Conference semi-final games and in all three of them the lower seed won. Denver trailed for most of Game 1 on Monday, with OKC leading by as much as 14 at one point, but the “never say die” attitude by Nikola Jokic kept the 2023 champs within distance. On top of that the Joker had 42 points and 22 rebounds, stuffing the stat sheet like only 3 other players in NBA history before him. Denver winning the rebounding battle 63-43 shows us that they just wanted it more than that Thunder who relaxed a bit after sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies a week ago. This will be the first time this postseason that OKC will face adversity, so we are looking forward seeing how they will respond. If there is one thing they have to clean up it’s their effort on the glass, they allowed the Nuggets 21 offensive rebounds in the series opener. SGA also had a decent game with 33 points, but his efficiency has been down a lot compared to the regular season and it’s impacting the result in a negative way. For Game 2 the oddsmakers have the Thunder as 11.5 favorites, that is an increase of 3 points compared to Game 1. At first glance that does sound like a lot, considering we just witnessed the Nuggets pull off the upset on Monday. Most of games in this series will be close, that would favor the underdog in this situation. We recommend sticking with Denver and backing them to cover the spread here.
