Expectations are high following the gentleman sweep of the LA Lakers in Round 1. The Timberwolves have made it into the 2nd Round of the Western Conference for the 2nd year running, but this team is much hungrier than that. Anthony Edwards is slowly becoming the new face of the NBA, the Timberwolves are just in a good place right now.

The Frenchman stepped up big time with 27 points and a career high 24 rebounds while making 12-of-15 shots. The Timberwolves connected on just 7 of 47 threes, but were still able to hold off the Lakers in a 103-96 win.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
Stellar defense and Buddy Hield going off is what got the Warriors a win in Game 7 on Sunday against Houston. Hield went off for 33 points, including 9 threes made, more than making up for Stephen Curry having a sub-par performance with “only” ww points and 10 rebounds. Draymond Green’s effort on the defensive end should also not be underestimate, the Warriors just played a perfect game to avoid losing another 3-1 lead in a series.

There are so many storylines heading into the series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, it promises to be a very enticing match-up. We have Jimmy Butler returning to the crime scene, facing his former team that opted not to re-sign him and traded him to Philadelphia a few years back. There’s also the animosity between Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert, those two are bound to go at it sooner rather than later in this series. Minnesota opens as a 5.5 point favorite in Game 1, we would say that is realistic considering they had 4 extra days of rest as the Warriors had to play two extra games in their 1st Round series vs Houston. It’s a very short turnaround for Golden State, just 48 hours after their big win in Houston they are back in action and for an aging roster like theirs that might not be enough time to recover. Buddy Hield went off for 33 points in Sunday’s win, how realistic is it to expect a similar performance in back-to-back games? We would say not very. Through the 1st Round only 4 other teams had a better offensive rating than Minnesota, while defensively they ranked 4th behind the Thunder, Celtics and Cavaliers. Anthony Edwards is on a mission this postseason, he torched the Warriors for 26 points per game in 4 regular season meetings, we just feel like the Timberwolves will draw first blood here.
