Summer Clear Out at Old Trafford

Summer Clear Out at Old Trafford

Having appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the permanent manager of Manchester United, the club have allowed themselves some time to begin planning their summer transfer activity.  While fans of the Red Devils will be keen to see which players are coming into Old Trafford, there may be plenty of players leaving the club, including some big names.

De Gea and Pogba

David De Gea came close to leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid but the deal fell through in August 2015 due to some missing paperwork.  However, the Spanish international goalkeeper has just over a year left on his current deal and is yet to sign an extension.

If De Gea was to leave the club, it would have to be in the upcoming window if Manchester United are to cash in on the player.  BetVictor offer 2/1 for De Gea to move to Real Madrid come the end of the transfer window and he may not be the only one heading to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Paul Pogba has been inconsistent again this season and the Frenchman has spoken about how any player would love to play for Real Madrid.  The comments were played down by Solskjaer but the rumours of Pogba leaving Manchester United will not go away.

The World Cup winner is just 2/1 with SkyBet to join Real Madrid this summer and 11/1 to sign for Paris Saint Germain.

Sanchez

To the say the move from Arsenal to Manchester United has not worked out for Alexis Sanchez is an understatement.  Injuries have seen his appearances limited at Old Trafford but when he has played, the winger has failed to impress.

This could open to the door to move away from Manchester United and a fresh start at a different club for the beginning of next season.  The only issue could be wages and Sanchez is believed to be on a bumper deal, which the majority of other clubs would struggle to match.

Nonetheless, Sanchez is 3/1 with BetVictor to join any Italian club and has experience of playing in Serie A from his days with Udinese.

Mata

One player many Manchester United fans will be sad to see leave the club is Juan Mata.  The Spanish playmaker has earned a glowing reputation with the club but perhaps more so for his off the pitch activity than his performances on it.

Mata has failed to command a regular starting place during his time at Manchester United and his contract is due to expire in June.  There appears to be no new deal on the horizon and Barcelona are said to be watching the situation with great interest.

A move to the Camp Nou would be great for Mata at this stage of his career and Barcelona are 2/1 with BetVictor to sign the player in the summer transfer window, with Juventus available at 4/1.
