Lucky 15 Betting Tips for today

Many clubs are still in their pre-season, and Wimbledon has just finished, but there is still plenty of football and tennis going on around the world. That means there is also plenty of opportunity to have a bet, and we will try and pick out four bets that you can combine into a Lucky 15.

A Lucky 15 creates 15 bets from your four selections (one four-fold, four trebles, six doubles, and four singles) and keeps your betslip alive even if one or more selections doesn’t win.

Because bookmakers offer bonuses for just one winner, you can still make a profit, and even more so if three or four of the selections come home.

Here are our picks ahead of a busy day of action. We’ve selected an alternative bet just in case you don’t see this until after the early match has finished. Good luck!

  • Diego Schwartzman (around 8/15)
  • Matthew Ebden (around 6/5)
  • Derry City (around 23/20)
  • Over 2.5 goals, Ross County v Hibernian (around 17/20)
  • Alternative bet: Pierre Hugues-Herbert (around 8/11)

Tennis: Diego Schwartzman to beat Andrey Kuznetsov

Kuznetsov has had a good run in Bastad so far in the Swedish Open, but this is where we see his run coming to an end. His win over top seed Pablo Carreno Busta in the last round came when the Spaniard retired when trailing 3-0 in the final set. Schwartzman, meanwhile, has been one of the tour’s most improved players over the last 18 months and breezed through against Maximilian Marterer (6-1, 6-3) and Renzo Olivo (6-4, 6-1). Schwartzman loves the clay, and beat Kuznetsov in their only previous meeting, on this surface, back in 2015.

Tennis: Matthew Ebden to beat Peter Gojowczyk

We are opposing the match favourite here as we fancy qualifier Matthew Ebden to beat Peter Gojowczyk and reach the final in Newport. Having beaten Brydan Klein and Ramkumar Ramanathan in to qualify, Ebden has seen off Rajeev Ram, Lukas Lacko and Tobias Kamke, managing to break serve more than once in each game. While Gojowczyk impressively beat Ivo Karlovic – needing three tie breaks to do it – Ebden is on his way back following an injury-ravaged 2016 and should be too strong for the German.

Tennis: Pierre Hugues-Herbert to beat Bjorn Fratangelo (alternative bet)

Bjorn Fratangelo is one of a number of talented young Americans coming through on the tour, and has made an impressive run to the quarter-finals in Newport by beating Ilya Marchenko and Akira Santillan. However, he runs into Frenchman Pierre Hugues-Herbert next, who is a different class altogether. He has had something of a revival in singles this season, and his experience will pay dividends.

Football: Derry City to beat Bohemians

We turn to the League of Ireland Premier Division for our first football tip, and we are backing Derry City to make it six wins in a row against Bohemians. The latter have not won in four games, and although Derry suffered a reverse at the hands of St Patrick’s last time out, we feel they will be too strong and the head-to-head record should outweigh Bohemians’ home advantage.

Football: Over 2.5 goals, Ross County v Hibernian

The League Cup in Scotland is well underway and these two sides meet in decent form. The recent head-to-heads have gone in favour of the home side, although Hibernian would probably be favoured in terms of a match result. However, we think there will be plenty of goals in this one. In each of Hibernian’s last three matches, four goals have been scored, while Ross put six past Montrose last time out.
