Leicester City vs. Tottenheim Hotspur Tip

Leicester City vs. Tottenheim Hotspur Tip

This season was always going to be tough for Leicester City.  They were never going to challenge for the title they won in sensational fashion last season and fans knew to expect the same thing again would be foolish.

However, they did not expect to see their team struggling in the bottom half of the Premier League table.  While the Foxes never sunk into the relegation zone, they hovered above it through the winter months and that was enough to see manager Claudio Ranieri lose his job.

Craig Shakespeare came in and did a good job, lifting Leicester away from the drop zone and into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.  They now have a chance to finish in the top half of the table.

Tottenham meanwhile, have enjoyed another excellent season under Mauricio Pochettino.  Second place in the Premier League is secure and the fans will be hoping for a better showing in the Champions League next season.

Leicester City Form

Leicester City are unbeaten in their last 8 games at home in all competitions and Shakespeare will be pleased his team have 2 home games remaining.

The Foxes have won 7 and drawn 1 of their last 8 home games and the fans have enjoyed good victories over Liverpool in the Premier League and Sevilla in the Champions League.  All 7 of the wins at the King Power Stadium have come by a margin of 2 goals or more.

Having played 6 of their last 8 games on the road, Leicester will be pleased to return home as they have struggled of late, picking up just 2 victories in those 8 games.

Tottenham Hotspur Form

Tottenham enjoyed a good 2-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday, as they said goodbye to White Hart Lane.

However, the damage was already done the week before and having lost to West Ham United, the Premier League title was handed to Chelsea.  Still, with second place secure, the fans cannot be too disappointed.

Tottenham are undefeated in 19 of their previous 21 games in the Premier League, winning 17 and drawing 2 during what is an impressive run of form.  It’s been away from home where Tottenham have encountered problems this season and they have won only 3 of their previous 7 away league games.

Tottenham have dropped points at Manchester City, Sunderland, Liverpool and West Ham recently.

Team News

Leicester are hoping to have the central defensive duo of Robert Huth and Wes Morgan fit for this game but will be without the injured Molla Wague, Nampalys Mendy and Daniel Drinkwater.

Tottenham will be without left-back Danny Rose, who is to undergo knee surgery.  Ben Davies will likely fill in for the England international and there could be starts for Kyle Walker and Mousa Dembele, who have found themselves out of the starting XI.
