Germany vs Saudi Arabia | Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds

World Cup holders Germany will be looking to put a turbulent tournament build up behind them as they face Saudi Arabia in their final match before they head to Russia to defend their trophy. Defeat to Austria last time out coupled with uncertainties within the squad selection has heaped the pressure on the defending champions. Saudi Arabia meanwhile will be looking to use the opportunity to face off against the world’s best before they head to Russia too.

Germany Form

Once again Joachim Low’s men are regarded as one of the favourites for the World Cup and their experience at this level will surely hold them in good stead. In a group with Sweden, South Korea and Mexico, the Germans will fancy their chances of qualifying but will have to be at their efficient best.

Timo Werner has emerged as Germany’s principal goal threat and his 7 international goals so far have made the world stand up and take notice.

Saudi Arabia Form

The Green Falcons have qualified for their first World Cup since 2006 and they will be desperate to impress on the world stage. Their current squad all ply their trade domestically but they will fancy their outside chances of progress from their group which includes Russia, Egypt and Uruguay.

Mohammad Al-Sahlawi is very much one of the players to watch at the World Cup and he has scored 28 international goals in his career so far.

Head to Head

Germany hold a 2:0 lead in the head to head record between the teams. Back in 2002, Germany thumped Saudi Arabia 8-0 at the World Cup in Japan and South Korea with Miroslav Klose bagging a hat-trick.

Germany vs Saudi Arabia Odds & Prediction

Germany won’t want concede here and they will be looking to make a statement after losing to Austria. Both teams to score – NO – looks a strong bet at 2/5 with Betway.

Timo Werner is Germany’s current number 9 and he will be eager to lead the line once again here. Timo Wener to score anytime looks a sensible punt at 8/15 with Bet Victor.

Neither side will be fully comfortable with their squads at this point but Germany will be looking to play on the front foot at home. Over 2.5 goals in the game looks a real possibility at 1/3 with Coral.

Germany will want to arrive at the World Cup full of confidence and could do with a win here to send them off. Croatia to win the match looks a logical bet at 1/16 with Ladbrokes.

Score Prediction: Germany 4 – 0 Saudi Arabia – 6/1 with William Hill.

Germany vs Saudi Arabia Betting Tip: Germany to win

Germany as defending champions will want to put down a marker here before they arrive in Russia and should win here in style. Germany to win the match and with a -2.5 Asian Handicap is a good punt at 8/11 with Coral.
