Five Bets for The Weekend

There is a huge amount of sport on this weekend, with domestic football returning, the US Open Final, cricket, horse racing and the return of the NFL. In this article, I will be giving you five betting tips for the upcoming weekend (all odds provided by Ladbrokes).

1) Arsenal (-1) vs Bournemouth

It has been a rough few weeks for Arsenal fans, but I expect them to get some light relief this weekend when they take on a Bournemouth side who are yet to pick up any points so far in the league. Arsenal have lost two games in a row and face Chelsea next weekend, meaning they must win here on Saturday and I’m backing them to do that comfortably.

Arsenal (-1) – 1/3

2) Venus Williams to win the US Open

Venus Williams has had an exceptional season so far, reaching the final at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon and she will have a great chance to reach the final in New York when she takes on fellow American Sloane Stephens in her semi final. It will be a superb achievement if Williams can win the US Open at the age of 37, but if anyone can, it’s Venus.

3) NE Patriots (-9) vs KC Chiefs

The NFL finally returns after the summer break on Friday night as Kansas City Chiefs take on New England Patriots at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. Veteran quarter back Tom Brady will be aiming to take his Pats team to the Super Bowl at the age of 40 and he will have a great chance this season if everything falls into place. I’m backing them to start with a big win against the KC Chiefs in their first game.

NE Patriots (-9) over KC Chiefs – 7/2

4) Chelsea to beat Leicester City

The odds on Chelsea to win away at Leicester City are surprisingly long considering last season’s Premier League champions have looked excellent in their last two games. Leicester have had a tough start to the season, already going down to Arsenal and Manchester United and things aren’t going to get any easier on Saturday. Alvaro Morata looked in excellent form for Spain on Tuesday night and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him open the scoring, something available at 7/2.

5) Aston Villa to beat Brentford

Aston Villa are priced up at Evens to beat Brentford this weekend, something which really reflects the way their season has started. Villa were joint favourites to win the Championship this season, but a haul of just five points from their first five games has seen them drift right out of the reckoning. On Saturday they take on a Brentford side who have failed to pick up a victory so far and I’m backing Villa to turn in a positive performance in this one.
