England Can seal T20 Series with Win

England’s tour of the West Indies is ending and it has been a very exciting couple of months of cricket.  Having contested three Test Matches and five One Day Internationals, the teams are now competing in three Twenty20 Internationals.

The second of those T20 games will take place on Friday 8th March at Warner Park, Basseterre.  England can wrap up the series with a win but West Indies will be hoping to take it to a deciding game by claiming victory.

England Hope to Find Consistency

Having suffered a crushing defeat in the final ODI, England bounced back well to win the first T20 match.  The Three Lions won the match by 4 wickets but have been inconsistent in the shortest format of the game recently.

Prior to this series, England defeated Australia and Sri Lanka in one off matches but lost a three match series 2-1 to India on home soil.  The England players will be aware of their up and down form and a win in this match could signal the beginning and a good run in T20 cricket.

England are the slight favourites to win the game, priced at 5/6 with Betfair.

West Indies Need to Find Extra Gear

West Indies defeated Bangladesh in a T20 series prior to hosting England but their T20 form has been poor overall.  Prior to the win over Bangladesh, West Indies lost five of their six T20 matches, including a 3-0 loss in India and 2-1 reverse at the hands of Bangladesh at home.

There is no doubt West Indies have the talent to become a strong T20 team but there is something missing from their game which seems to be preventing them for stepping up to the next level.  West Indies are the slight outsiders for this match, priced at Evens with Ladbrokes.

Tom Curran was the man who did the most damage with the ball for England in this first Twenty20 International.  While not being as economical as some of his fellow bowlers in the England attack, Curran mixed his pace nicely and took 4 crucial wickets to help his country seal the victory.

Curran is on offer at 7/2 with William Hill to be the top wicket taker for England in this game.

Gayle Can Entertain

West Indies were hoping for another big innings from Chris Gayle but the legendary batsman was caught at short third man for just 15 runs in the first match.  Nonetheless, Gayle was in ruthless form in the ODI’s, hitting two centuries and has the ability to take the game away from the England bowlers very quickly.

Gayle will be keen to put on another show for the home fans as the England tour reaches its conclusion.  The opener is 9/4 with Betfair to be the top run scorer for his country.
