EFL Cup 4-Fold – Tuesday

Following a busy weekend of Premier League action, managers and fans turn their attention to the EFL Cup on Tuesday night as the final six Premier League teams make their entrance into the competition. In this preview I’ll be analysing Tuesday’s matches and putting together a 4-Fold bet for you to take advantage of. All of the odds in this preview are provided by Ladbrokes and are accurate at the time of writing.

Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion

The first match I’ll be taking a look at is the all Premier League matchup between Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion and it sees a repeat of Friday nights fixture between the two sides at Dean Court. Bournemouth won that game 2-1 courtesy of second half goals from Andrew Surman and Jermain Defoe and I’m backing Eddie Howe’s side to win this game as well. Both sides will make a whole host of changes for the game, but Bournemouth have the better squad depth and Howe may well be looking at a good cup run to boost his support with the fans.

Bournemouth to win – 1/1

Bristol City vs Stoke City

Bristol City are unbeaten in 7 games in all competitions and I think they’ll definitely give Stoke City a good game in this one at Ashton Gate. I fancy Mark Hughes to pick a strong team here though; Stoke City should achieve safety comfortably this season and so he may well fancy a crack at the EFL Cup. They have quality amongst their ranks in Shaqiri and Jese and they should have too much for a solid Bristol City side.

Stoke City to win – 4/5

Leicester City vs Liverpool

Another all Premier League affair here at The King Power Stadium as Leicester City host Liverpool. These two sides will also meet at the weekend in the league and I fancy Jurgen Klopp’s side to edge this one. Both teams will make a whole host of changes, but in players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Dominic Solanke and Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool have more quality in their squad and I’m backing them to pick up a win here.

Liverpool to win – 5/6

Reading vs Swansea City

Two struggling teams meet at the Madejski Stadium here as Reading host Swansea City. Reading have won just 2 of their 7 games so far this season, whilst Swansea have won just 1 of their 5. Something has to give here though and both sides will fancy their chances of progressing. It will be interesting to see what sort of team Paul Clement picks for this one as players like Renato Sanches and Tammy Abraham look short of confidence at the moment and could do with a run of games in the side. I think Clement will select a strong side here and it is for that reason I’m going for a Swansea win.

Swansea City to win – 11/10

Total 4-Fold – 12.86/1
