EBF Stallions/TBA Mares’ Standard Open NH Flat Race 2019 Main Contenders

Silver Forever

This former point-to-pointer has run in three bumpers but, despite winning her last one, she has already been beaten in Listed Company and the bookies have priced her up at shorter than 9/2 already. Despite those negatives, she can’t be ruled out.

Daylight Katie

Irish raider Babylone Des Mottes won this race in 2015 and this Gordon Elliott-trained runner has a very similar profile. She’s a four-year-old that has run three times already in bumpers, winning the last one, and she has to be of interest for this leading trainer.

Whitehotchillifili

This aptly named five-year-old hails from the Harry Fry stable which has been in red-hot form of late. However, she arrives here having been beaten in the second of her two runs in bumpers so far, and all of the last four winners had won on their previous outing.

Misty Whisky

Harry Fry also has a second string to his bow with this other twice-raced five-year-old who, despite being a bigger price in the market than her stablemate, did win on her last outing at Ludlow after finishing second on debut when well-backed to win at Aintree.

Mystic Dreamer

Defied her 33/1 odds on debut by running a stormer to finish second to Silver Forever at Ascot. Entitled to come on for that run but the fact she’s only had one run and didn’t win on it are both negatives. Her trainer Nick Gifford also appears to be struggling for winners.

Miss Honey Ryder

Named after a famous Bond-girl but didn’t look all that glamorous when only seventh on her first run. Improved since to finish second and first but her overall form doesn’t look as good as some of her rivals. However, it’s interesting that her trainer won the 2016 renewal with The Nipper.

EBF Stallions/TBA Mares’ Standard Open NH Flat Race 2019 Summary

A tough race to solve, with lots of horses having the potential to improve, but Daylight Katie could be the one. Trainer Gordon Elliott has an army of talent at his disposal and this four-year-old looks the best stats fit as she won her last race and is prominent in the market.
