Once again, Argentina experienced a disappointing start at a big tournament as they lost the opening match to Colombia and now they will be desperate to make amends in a tilt with Paraguay. Los Guaraníes, on the other hand, had a comfortable 2-0 lead against debutants Qatar but relaxed and allowed the Asians to get back into the game with two quick goals. Paraguay is in a slightly better position after that points but they could face elimination with a defeat here.

Following a 2-0 loss to Colombia in their Copa America opener, Argentina have now lost three successive games against fellow CONMEBOL opposition since October 2018. All three have seen Argentina lose one half to nil while drawing the other, with at least one goal either way beyond the hour mark.
