Record Breaking Transfer Window in Prospect

The domestic European football season has only just finished but clubs are already making big money moves in the transfer market.  This summer could be the biggest we have ever seen in terms of transfer money spent.

Manchester City have already completed the signing of Bernardo Silva from Monaco.  The Portuguese forward has joined for a fee of around €50m following a good season for the Ligue 1 champions.

Real Madrid have also been busy, completing the transfer of 16-year-old Vinicius Junior.  The youngster only played one senior match for Flamengo but the hierarchy at the Santiago Bernabeu had seen enough to convince them to part with €46m for his services.  The Brazilian will join in July 2018.

With these two deals completed, what else can we expect in the summer transfer window?

Antoine Griezmann has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United.  The Frenchman has been key to Atletico Madrid in recent years but is 1/4 with PaddyPower to be at Old Trafford next season. Skybet offer 4/1 he will remain at Atletico Madrid, which suggests a move is imminent.

One man who could be on this way out of Old Trafford is David De Gea. The Spanish goalkeeper almost joined Real Madid a few years ago and has been strongly linked with the La Liga winners again recently.  You can get 2/5 with BetVictor for De Gea to be at the Bernabeu next season.

Monaco striker, Kylian Mbappe has been getting all the headlines for his superb performances in the second half of the season. The young French international has been linked with several big European clubs but is Evens to remain at Monaco for at least one more season. William Hill offer 2/1 he will join Real Madrid but that seems unlikely this year.

One man who could be on his way out of Real Madrid is James Rodriguez. The Colombian joined having impressed during the 2014 World Cup but has failed to live up to expectations. Recent reports have linked Rodriguez with a move to Old Trafford and this can be backed at 8/11 with PaddyPower. However, there has been nothing concrete to suggest this will happen and you can get 5/2 with Skybet he will join Inter Milan.

Alexis Sanchez has been a key player for Arsenal but many onlookers believe he will move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer. With his Chilean teammate, Arturo Vidal willing Sanchez to join him at Bayern Munich, the forward may be on his way to the Allianz Arena. With Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery entering the twilight of their careers, this move would make sense. Sanchez is 1/2 with Skybet to join Bayern Munich this summer.

Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku has made no secret of his desire to move to a Champions League club. His former club, Chelsea, are favourites to sign him at 4/6 with BetVictor and if Diego Costa moves on, this seems a distinct possibility. Manchester United are available at 5/2 with Skybet but with Mourinho at the club, would Lukaku want to reunite with the man who sold him?

This could be the biggest spending and most exciting summer transfer window for many years. With no major international tournament, everyone will be focusing on the transfer market.
