Five Bets for the Weekend

There’s a bumper weekend of sport on offer this coming weekend with a full round of football fixtures including Tottenham vs Liverpool as well as the US Grand Prix and a whole host of action in the NFL and MLB. In this article I will be giving you five betting tips for the weekend, some of them look like sure things and some of them are longer odds. Take a look through and see if any take your fancy!

Liverpool to beat Spurs – 23/10 (Ladbrokes)

You can get big odds on Liverpool to beat Spurs this weekend and they look very appealing to me considering Spurs haven’t beaten Liverpool since November 2012; their longest winless run against any top six side. That coupled with their poor form at Wembley Stadium in the league that has seen them win just one of their four games so far points to Liverpool having a great chance of springing an upset in this one. Philipe Coutinho will be seeking to score in his fifth away game in a row and don’t be surprised to see the little Brazilian have a big say in this game.

LA Rams to beat Arizona Cardinals (-3) – 5/6 (Ladbrokes)

LA Rams take on Arizona Cardinals on Sunday evening and the highest scoring offence in the league this season will come up against a mean looking Cardinals defence who have yet to concede a 100-yard rush. If Cardinals are to have any chance on Sunday, they will have to stop Todd Gurley who has already run in seven touchdowns this season and I can see the Rams winning again this weekend to extend their record to 5-2.

Lewis Hamilton to win the US Grand Prix – 8/13 (Ladbrokes)

The Grand Prix circus heads to Texas this weekend with Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes capable of picking up both trophies on Sunday, following a rough few races for Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. It looked like we could be in for a real title race this season but a torrid few weeks for the Ferrari team has put pay to any hopes of that and now Lewis Hamilton is coasting to another title. I think he will win again this weekend and with odds of 5/6 available on the Brit to pick up the win, you have got to be all over that.

Both of these sides were in Europa League action this week with Everton losing 2-1 at home to Lyon, whilst Arsenal picked up a hard fought 1-0 win away in Belgrade. Everton spent plenty of money this summer and were expected to challenge the top six sides in the league, but that has simply not happened and Ronald Koeman is now in serious danger of losing his job. His side look devoid of any pace or urgency and they are simply too easy to beat. This weekend they host an Arsenal side who lost 2-1 to Watford last time out in the league, their third defeat of the season and Arsene Wenger knows he can ill afford another loss this weekend. I think Arsenal will end up winning this one comfortably though and it could well be the final nail in Koeman’s coffin at Everton.

Leroy Sane FGS vs Burnley – 9/4 (Ladbrokes)

Manchester City were superb last weekend in dismantling Stoke City 7-2 and one man who stood out was winger Leroy Sane. Despite beginning the season out of the starting line up, the electric winger has forced his way into the side with a string of fine performances coupled with goals. I’m backing him to open the scoring in what could be another rout for the Citizens on Saturday afternoon.
